A thought provoking quote from the classic.. Shishupalavadha of Maagha..
=============
A man with a noble and effusive heart would never feel sad or intolerant when he sees great success, achievement and success in others.
One who feels irritated and depressed when he watches good things happening to others, but conceals such feeling and acts normal.. is of the middle category.. neither noble nor utterly wretched..
The fellow whose heart and body burns with distress and jealousy when he sees progress and affluence in others and would openly express his displeasure and would even try to sabotage the welfare of the one is well placed.. belongs to the worst or adhama category of human beings.
==============
In fact, the health and welfare of a society or nation, and the Individual too depends entirely on the attitude of the majority of the people..
Usually feeling of jealousy by an ordinary fellow would rather destroy the fellow himself.. But the jealousy of the powerful person can prove diabolic..
If people are generally of the first category, it is great..
It would do us a lot of good if we ask ourselves often so as to know the category we ourselves would fit in..
Regards.. Have a nice day
