न पापे प्रतिपापः स्यात्साधुरेव सदा भवेत्।
आत्मनैव हतः पापो यः पापं कर्तुमिच्छति ॥३१७॥
सारसमुच्चये महाभारते
na pāpe pratipāpaḥ syātsādhureva sadā bhavet।
ātmanaiva hataḥ pāpo yaḥ pāpaṃ kartumicchati ॥317॥
sārasamuccaye mahābhārate
If a person of sinful mind is persisting on sinful activities, such sins should not be countered or retaliated through activities which are not proper and are sinful. Righteousness should be followed at any cost.
A person who sets out to perform sinful activities would be defeated by his own action, and by himself and would be destroyed.
पापे on a person intent on perpetrating sin प्रतिपापः sins or sinful activities in retaliation न स्यात् should not be there सदा always साधुरेव right and proper action भवेत् only should be there यः which one पापः sinner, with sinful intent पापं sin कर्तुं doing इच्छति desires, proposes सः he आत्मना by himself, by the force of his own action एव itself हतः भवति gets destroyed, gets beaten
ന പാപേ പ്രതിപാപഃ സ്യാത്സാധുരേവ സദാ ഭവേത്।
ആത്മനൈവ ഹതഃ പാപോ യഃ പാപം കര്തുമിച്ഛതി ॥൩൧൭॥
സാരസമുച്ചയേ മഹാഭാരതേ
ദുഷ്ടബുദ്ധിയായ ഒരാള് പാപം ചെയ്യാന് ഒരുങ്ങിപ്പുറപ്പെടുകയും പാപങ്ങള് ചെയ്തു കൂട്ടുകയും ആണെങ്കില് അത്തരം പാപങ്ങളെ എതിര്ത്തു തോല്പ്പിക്കാന് എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശത്തില് ആയാല് പോലും പാപങ്ങള് ചെയ്യുകയോ പാപം നിറഞ്ഞ മാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങള് സ്വീകരിക്കുകയോ അരുത്. പാപങ്ങളെ ധര്മ്മത്തിന്റെയും ശരിയുടേയും വഴിയില് നിന്ന് കൊണ്ട് ചെറുത്തു തോല്പ്പിക്കണം.
പാപം ചെയ്യാന് അരയും തലയും മുറുക്കി പുറപ്പെട്ടവര് ആ പാപങ്ങളുടെ ഭാരം കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ സ്വയം വിനാശം നേരിട്ടുകൊള്ളും
