नादत्तमिच्छेन्न पिबेच्च मद्यं
प्राणान्न हिंसेन्न वदेच्च मिथ्याम् ।
परस्य दारान्मनसापि नेच्छेद्
यः स्वर्गमिच्छेद्गृहवत्प्रवेष्टुम् ॥२५६।
सारसमुच्चये
nādattamicchenna pibecca madyaṃ
prāṇānna hiṃsenna vadecca mithyām ।
parasya dārānmanasāpi necched
yaḥ svargamicchedgṛhavatpraveṣṭum ॥256।
sārasamuccaye
If a person wants to reach heaven and stay there for ever as if it is his own usual residence,
then, he should never have yearning for acquiring something which is not offered to him voluntarily, he should never consume intoxicating drinks, he should never cause destruction to any life, he should never tell lies and he should never cast his eyes with wrong ideas or desires at ladies who are wedded to someone else.
यःa person गृहवत् just as if it is his own resident स्वर्गं heaven प्रवेष्टुं to enter इच्छेत् desire सः he अदत्तं what is not given or offered to him voluntarily न इच्छेत् should not yearn or desire for मद्यं intoxicating drink, toddy न पिबेत् should not drink प्राणान् न हिम्सेत् should not cause destruction to any life मिथ्यां lie न वदेत् should not tell परस्य दारां the lady of someone else मनसापि even by remotest thought न इच्छेत् should not think of with wrong desire
നാദത്തമിച്ഛേന്ന പിബേച്ച മദ്യം
പ്രാണാന്ന ഹിംസേന്ന വദേച്ച മിഥ്യാം ।
പരസ്യ ദാരാന്മനസാപി നേച്ഛേദ്
യഃ സ്വര്ഗമിച്ഛേദ്ഗൃഹവത്പ്രവേഷ്ടും ॥൨൫൬।
സാരസമുച്ചയേ
സ്വന്തം വീട്ടില് സുഖമായി താമസിക്കുന്ന അത്രയും ലാഘവത്തോടെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് സ്ഥിരതാമസം ഉറപ്പിക്കുവാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് ഒരാള്
ആരെങ്കിലും നിറഞ്ഞ മനസ്സോടെ തരുന്ന വസ്തുക്കളില് അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നിലും ആഗ്രഹം കാണിക്കരുത്
മദ്യം സേവിക്കരുത്
ഒന്നിനേയും ഹിംസിക്കരൂത്, ഒരു ജീവിക്കും പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തരുത്.
ഏതു പരിതസ്ഥിതിയിലും കളവു പറയരുത്
തെറ്റായ ആഗ്രഹാങ്ങളോടെ മറ്റൊരാളുടെ പത്നിയെ ഒരിക്കലും നോക്കുകയോ , പരസ്ത്രീകളില് വഴിവിട്ട ആഗ്രഹങ്ങള് വിദൂരങ്ങളായ ചിന്തകളില്പ്പോലും ഉണ്ടാവുകയോ അരുത്
