अभिध्यालुः परस्वेषु नेह नामुत्र नन्दति।
तस्मादभिध्या संत्याज्या सर्वदाभीप्सता सुखम्॥
महासुभाषितसङ्ग्रहे २२६९ सारसमुच्चये
abhidhyāluḥ parasveṣu neha nāmutra nandati|
tasmādabhidhyā saṁtyājyā sarvadābhīpsatā sukham||
mahāsubhāṣitasaṅgrahe 2269 sarasamucchaye
A person who is covetous, who is longing without reason for things belonging to others, could never remain happy either in this world or in the nether world after he dies. Therefore persons who desire welfare and happiness should avoid unreasonable desire for objects and things belonging to others.
परस्वेषु in respect of things belongi to others अभिध्यालुः who covets, who desires unreasonably इह in this world अमुत्र in the other world too वा either न नन्दति will be happy तस्माद् therefore सुखं comfort, welfare अभीप्सता desirous of अभिध्या covetousness सर्वदा by all means, ever संत्याजा should be given up, avoided.
അഭിധ്യാലുഃ പരസ്വേഷു നേഹ നാമുത്ര നന്ദതി।
തസ്മാദഭിധ്യാ സംത്യാജ്യാ സര്വദാഭീപ്സതാ സുഖം॥
മഹാസുഭാഷിതസങ്ഗ്രഹേ ൨൨൬൯ സാരസമുച്ചയേ
തനിക്ക് സ്വന്തം അല്ലാത്തതും മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഉള്ളതും ആയ വസ്തുക്കളിലും കാര്യങ്ങളിലും അകാരണമായ ആഗ്രഹവും കൊതിയും ആസക്തിയും വച്ച് പുലര്‍ത്തുന്ന ആള്‍ ഈ ഭൂമിയില്‍ ഉള്ള ജീവിതത്തില്‍ ആയാലും മരണ ശേഷം പരലോകത്തില്‍ പോയാലും ഒരിക്കലും സന്തോഷം കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ല. ജീവിതത്തില്‍ നന്മയും സമാധാനവും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തി അത് മനസിലാക്കി തനിക്ക് അര്‍ഹമല്ലാത്തതും മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് സ്വന്തം ആയതും ആയ വസ്തുക്കള്‍ കയ്യടക്കാനുള്ള ആക്രാന്തം എല്ലാ വിധത്തിലും ഒഴിവാക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.
