The really learned and noble person is the one
Who would look upon ladies who are married to others as if they were his mothers
Who would would look upon the wealth of others as if they are mere clods of earth
Who would look after the interest and the emotions of all the living beings as if these are his own
Indian culture underlines the importance of respect for women to almost a level that would look like exaggeration for those who do not understand our culture..
For us Indian, the statement that “all people are our own brothers and sisters is not a mere platitude”
Casting even an improper casual glance on a lady who is weddes to another is considered as a heinous crime.. No wrong thoughts would pass the mind if one looks at a woman as equal to his own mother or a sister or a daughter..
Our culture did not frown upon earning money.. But our value standards would never permit anyone coveting for some valuable thing which is not legitimately his own..A clod of earth or a lump of clay is of trifling value. So a person, even if he sees a lump of gold which is the property of someone else, should consider it only as a lumb of clay
And each person would be at his best when he looks after his own welfare, his own emotions, and his own security.. So if he can have the mind to understand that any other living being is just his own alternate self, to be loved, befriended, and cherished, then it is but natural that he would look after the welfare of every living being on the same footing as his own
Such a persons, with such a noble perception is the really leaned and noble one..
