शंजम्मध णिअपोटं णिच्चं जगरोध झाणपदहेण
विरामा इन्दिअचोला हलन्ति चिलशंचिदं घम्मम् ॥२५॥
(संयच्छत निजोदरं नित्यं जागृत ध्यानपटहेने
विषमा इन्द्रियचौरा हरन्ति चिरसञ्चितं धर्मम् ॥) मृच्छकटिकम् ८.१
saṃyacchata nijodaraṃ nityaṃ jāgṛta dhyānapaṭahene
viṣamā indriyacaurā haranti cirasañcitaṃ dharmam ॥) mṛcchakaṭikam 8.1
Keep your appetite under control, use the beats of the drum in the shape of devoted meditation to keep yourself alert and awake.Remember, your sense organs are indeed thieves who, through their cunning wayward actions would drain you of all the merits of dharma accumulated by you over long period of disciplined and dedicated life.
