Someone asks in response to my post that approach to God should not be on a quid pro quo basis.
Isn't neivedhyam and other offerings akin to barter system.
My answer.. I may be wrong in your perception.. But my perception is as given below.
It all depends on your attitude..
God is a relative and a member of the family, a friend, a dear person..When He is present with us we have to offer Him all that we would offer to such a friend, relative or dear person.
You can approach such person as a person whom you honour just for benefits he would give..
Then it is barter..
If you see Him as a person who deserves our affection, then where is the barter.?
You feed your wife, children, father and give treats to your friends, and so on .. Is it barter?
The question arises because you can view God as a benefactor who requires compensation for the favours He gives.. perhaps..
I can just ask to think differently..
Then the answer will be clear..
