पृष्ठतो न विजल्पन्ति दीनमभ्युद्धरन्ति च।
संवासान्नावमन्यन्ते सेव्या राजेन्द्र साधवः॥३१५
अर्थं महान्तमासाद्य विद्यामैश्वर्यमेव च।
विचरेदसमुन्नद्धं यः स पण्डित उच्यते॥३१६
सारसमुच्चये
pṛṣṭhato na vijalpanti dīnamabhyuddharanti ca|
saṁvāsānnāvamanyante sevyā rājendra sādhavaḥ||315
arthaṁ mahāntamāsādya vidyāmaiśvaryameva ca|
vicaredasamunnaddhaṁ yaḥ sa paṇḍita ucyate||316
sārasamuccaye
Oh King, the company of noble and classy persons
Who never spread scandals about you behind your back
Who are ever eager to lend helping hands to people in distress
Who never get contemptuous about you just because the long association with them causes boredom
Should be sought for ever
He is the really learned person
Who never becomes arrogant and vain
Just because he has come by a lot of money
Just because he has learned a lot and has acquired some respectability and influence
And who just moves around as a simple person in spite of his praiseworthy attainments.
പൃഷ്ഠതോ ന വിജല്പന്തി ദീനമഭ്യുദ്ധരന്തി ച।
സംവാസാന്നാവമന്യന്തേ സേവ്യാ രാജേന്ദ്ര സാധവഃ॥൩൧൫
അര്ഥം മഹാന്തമാസാദ്യ വിദ്യാമൈശ്വര്യമേവ ച।
വിചരേദസമുന്നദ്ധം യഃ സ പണ്ഡിത ഉച്യതേ॥൩൧൬

മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ കുറ്റങ്ങളും കുറവുകളും അവര്ക്ക് സ്വയം ന്യായീകരിക്കാന് കകഴിയാത്ത വിധം പിറകില് നിന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു പരത്തുന്ന സ്വഭാവം തീരെ ഇല്ലാത്ത
തങ്ങളുടെ കഴിവുകളുടെ പരമാവധി ഉപയോഗിച്ചു കഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവര്ക്ക് സഹായഹസ്തം നല്കുവാന് എപ്പോഴും സന്നദ്ധരായ
തങ്ങളുടെ കൂടെ ഏറെക്കാലം ഒന്നിച്ചു പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുകയും താമസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തത് കൊണ്ട് മാത്രം അതിപരിചയം കൊണ്ട് ഉണ്ടാവുന്ന ബഹുമാനക്കുറവ് വച്ച് പുലര്ത്താത്തവര്
ഇത്തരം ഗുണങ്ങള് മുഖമുദ്രകള് ആക്കിയ നല്ല തരമുള്ള വ്യക്തികളുടെ സാമീപ്യവും സൌഹൃദവും എന്ത് വില കൊടുത്തും കാത്തു സൂക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.
