गुरूपदेशादध्येतुं शास्त्रं जडधियोऽप्यलम्|
काव्यं तु जायते जातु कस्यचित् प्रतिभावतः॥
भामहः काव्यालङ्कारे
gurūpadeśādadhyetuṁ śāstraṁ jaḍadhiyo'pyalam|
kāvyaṁ tu jāyate jātu kasyacit pratibhāvataḥ||
bhāmahaḥ kāvyālaṅkāre
Any person, even a person of very ordinary intellect, perhaps even a dull headed fellow would be able to learn sciences and such subjects if he is trained and taught with lot of effort by an efficient teacher. However, sublime poetry is born rarely, that too poetry is created only by a person who is endowed with extraordinary genius.
This is the view of Bhamaha, the great theoretician on poetics.

കാവ്യം തു ജായതേ ജാതു കസ്യചിത് പ്രതിഭാവതഃ॥

ഏതൊരു വ്യക്തിക്കും ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളും അതുപോലുള്ള വിഷയങ്ങളും ഒരു സമര്ത്ഥനായ ഗുരുവിന്റെ ശിക്ഷണം ലഭിക്കുകയാണെങ്കില് ഏറെ പണിപ്പെട്ടാണെങ്കിലും പഠിച്ചെടുക്കാന് പറ്റും. വിദ്യാര്ഥി അത്രയൊന്നും ബുദ്ധിശക്തി ഉള്ളവന് അല്ലെങ്കിലും, ഒരുപക്ഷെ വിദ്യാര്ഥി കുറച്ചൊക്കെ മണ്ടന് ആണെങ്കില് പോലും ഒരു അധ്യാപകന് അയാളെ ശാസ്ത്രം മുതലായ വിഷയങ്ങള് പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കാന് കഴിയും. പക്ഷെ ഉദാത്തമായ കവിത ജനിക്കുന്നത് അനുഗൃഹീതരായ ചിലരുടെ പ്രതിഭയില് നിന്ന് മാത്രമാണ്. അത്തരം കവിത വല്ലപ്പോഴുമേ ജന്മം എടുക്കുകയുള്ളൂ.സാഹിത്യാചാര്യനായ ഭാമഹന് തന്റെ ഉല്കൃഷ്ടകൃതിയായ കാവ്യാലങ്കാരത്തില് പറഞ്ഞ അഭിപ്രായം ആണിത്
