Contentment and utter satisfaction is the best for us in three matters
1. Being happy with devoted to the wife.. the woman one has selected as a partner in life
2.. The food one eats,
3. The money he earns
However, he should never be contended in the following three matters, and he should tirelessly pursue the acquisition or enhanced efficiency in the following .
1. In gaining knowledge
2 In chanting the divine names, and countering the accumulated karma and other evils
3 In using their wealth and possession in providing gifts and assistance for others.
Marital fidelity is the ultimate cementing factor in the cohesive existence of the family set up and a family as the fundamental building block of the society has to be protected at any cost
Excessive eating, giving preference to tongue rather than health.. that is invitation to death and diseaser
Desire to earn money and hoard the same is just sucicidal
So, once we reach the optimum level, we should draw the line of limitation
(of course a devilish spouse, starvation and poverty are disastrous.. agreed)
However, we should not set any limits for the pursuit of knowledge,
for worship of the divine
or
for our eagerness to help others.
Even death in pursuit of these is hallowed martyrdom..
