काव्यं करोतु परिजल्पतु संस्कृतं वा
सर्वाः कलाः समधिगच्छतु वाच्यमानाः।
लोकस्थितिं यदि न वेत्ति यदानुरूपं
सर्व्वस्य मूर्खनिकरस्य स चक्रवर्ती॥
धर्म कल्पद्रुमं
kāvyaṁ karotu parijalpatu saṁskṛtaṁ vā
sarvāḥ kalāḥ samadhigacchatu vācyamānāḥ|
lokasthitiṁ yadi na vetti yadānurūpaṁ
sarvvasya mūrkhanikarasya sa cakravartī||

Even if a person is a great poet and author with profuse imagination and creativity
Even if he is capable of speaking attractively in the most cultured language
Even if he has manages to learn with great skill all the famous forms of arts
If he is not able to understand and be diligent about the conditions of the world he lives in
Then he is to be considered as the emperor of all the fools and idiots around him.
കാവ്യം കരോതു പരിജല്പതു സംസ്കൃതം വാ
സര്വാഃ കലാഃ സമധിഗച്ഛതു വാച്യമാനാഃ।
ലോകസ്ഥിതിം യദി ന വേത്തി യദാനുരൂപം
സര്വ്വസ്യ മൂര്ഖനികരസ്യ സ ചക്രവര്തീ॥
ധര്മ കല്പദ്രുമം
ഒരു വ്യക്തി ഏറെ സര്ഗധനനായ കവി ആയിരുന്നാലും, ഉദാത്തമായ കൃതികള് രചിച്ചാലും
അയാള് ഏറെ തറവാടിത്തവും സംസ്കാരവും തുളുമ്പി നില്ക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകള് മാത്രം ഇപ്പോഴും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ആളായിരുന്നാലും
പ്രശസ്തങ്ങളായ സുകുമാരകലകളില് എല്ലാം അയാള് അഭ്യസിച്ച് പ്രാവീണ്യംനേടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും
തനിക്ക് ചുറ്റും നടക്കുന്ന ലൌകികമായ കാര്യങ്ങളെയും അവമൂലമുള്ള വരും വരായ്കകളെയും കുറിച്ച് അയാള്ക്ക് ഒരു ബോധവും ഇല്ലെങ്കില്, അത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് വേണ്ടത്ര മനസ്സിലാക്കാനുള്ള കഴിവ് അയാള്ക്ക് ഇല്ലെങ്കില്
പിന്നെ അയാള് ഈ ലോകത്തില് ഉള്ള മൊത്തം പമ്പരവിഢ്ഡികളുടെയും ചക്രവര്ത്തി തന്നെ ആണ്.
