किंचिद् कस्यचित् इष्टं नैकं सर्वस्य जगति विश्वरुचौ।
स्पृहयति कमलं रवये कुमुदाय तु रोचते चन्द्रः॥१८२

kiṁcid kasyacit iṣṭaṁ naikaṁ sarvasya jagati viśvarucau|
spṛhayati kamalaṁ ravaye kumudāya tu rocate candraḥ||182

Certain persons may like some particular objects very much . But we nrrd not presume that such liking means that the entire world or large number of people like such an tobject.
When the sun sees the lotus, he is very much pleased. However the moon would be pleased only to see the lily flowers.
കിംചിദ് കസ്യചിത് ഇഷ്ടം നൈകം സര്വസ്യ ജഗതി വിശ്വരുചൌ।
സ്പൃഹയതി കമലം രവയേ കുമുദായ തു രോചതേ ചന്ദ്രഃ॥൧൮൨

ചില കാര്യങ്ങളെയും ചില പ്രത്യേക വസ്തുക്കളെയും ചില വ്യക്തികള് ഏറെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു എന്ന് വരാം. പക്ഷെ അതിന്നര്ത്ഥം അത്തരം വസ്തുക്കളും കാര്യങ്ങളും ഈ ലോകത്തില് എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടും എന്നൊന്നും അല്ല.
സൂര്യന് താമരയെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു. ചന്ദ്രനാകട്ടെ ആമ്പല്പൂവിനെ ആണ് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നത്
