अक्षराणि विचित्राणि ये न जानन्ति मानवाः।
बलीवर्दसामास्ते तु खुरशृङ्गविवर्जिताः॥
चाणक्याद्॥
akṣarāṇi vicitrāṇi ye na jānanti mānavāḥ|
balivarddhasāmāste tu khuraśṛṅgavivarjitāḥ||
cāṇakyād||
Those human beings who have no knowledge of and those who have no expertise in handling a rich variety of letters are just having their existence similar to oxen that carry burden, perhaps they are like oxen without hoofs and horns.
ये which मानवाःhuman beings विचित्राणि rich variety of अक्षराणि letters न जानन्ति do not know ते तु they indeed खुर hoof शृङ्ग horn विवर्जिताः without having बलीवर्द ox that carries weight and labour समाः equivalent to भवन्ति become
അക്ഷരാണി വിചിത്രാണി യേ ന ജാനന്തി മാനവാഃ।
ബലീവര്ദസാമാസ്തേ തു ഖുരശൃങ്ഗവിവര്ജിതാഃ॥
ചാണക്യാദ്॥
ഏറെ സമ്പന്നങ്ങളായ അക്ഷരങ്ങളുടെ ശ്രേണിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അറിവ് ഇല്ലാത്ത, അക്ഷരങ്ങള് ഉപയോഗിക്കാന് അറിയാത്ത മനുഷ്യജീവികള് ഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്ന വണ്ടിക്കാളകളില് നിന്ന് ഏറെ വ്യത്യസ്തര് ഒന്നും അല്ല. ഒരുപക്ഷെ അത്തരം മനുഷ്യര്ക്ക് കൊമ്പുകളും കുളമ്പുകളും ഇല്ല എന്ന ഒരു കാര്യത്തില് മാത്രം അവര്ക്ക് കാളകളില് നിന്ന് വ്യത്യാസം ഉണ്ടെന്നു പറയാം.
