न हि सर्वत्र पाण्डित्यं सुलभं पुरुषे क्वचित्

अबुद्धिमाश्रितानां च क्षन्तव्यमपराधिनाम्।

न हि सर्वत्र पाण्डित्यं सुलभं पुरुषे क्वचित्॥

सुभाषितरत्नभाङ्डागारे

abuddhimāśritānāṁ ca kṣantavyamaparādhinām|

na hi sarvatra pāṇḍityaṁ sulabhaṁ puruṣe kvacit||

subhāṣitaratnabhāṅḍāgāre

The king or the boss should invariably condone the errors committed by servants and dependents through sheer lack of smartness and due to inadvertence. It should always be remembered that efficiency, scholarship and smartness are not evenly distributed among human beings.
