ये नास्तिकाः निष्क्रियाश्च गुरुशास्त्रातिलङ्घिनः

ये नास्तिकाः निष्क्रियाश्च गुरुशास्त्रातिलङ्घिनः।

अधर्मज्ञा गताचारास्ते भवन्ति गतायुषः॥

सायणविरचिते सुभाषित्सुधानिधौ॥

ye nāstikāḥ niṣkriyāśca guruśāstrātilaṅghinaḥ|

adharmajñā gatācārāste bhavanti gatāyuṣaḥ||

sāyaṇaviracite subhāṣitsudhānidhau||

Sayana says in his Subhashitasudhaanidhi

people who have no faith in God..

who are by nature lazy and reluctant to work

who tend to defy the instructions of the preceptors and the scriptures

who have learned things that are outside the limits of dharma

who have abandoned all the ordained rituals and are not interested in proper conduct in life

they would have their lifespan and longevity reduced, they will be dead for all practical purposes..
