dhīrāstu dhairyeṇa taranti mṛtyum|

The bold people, the men of character, overcome death by confronting it with boldness and true grit

न स्वधैर्यादृते कश्चिदभ्युद्धरति संकटात्॥

योगवासिष्ठे॥

na svadhairyādṛte kaścidabhyuddharati saṁkaṭāt||

yogavāsiṣṭhe||

No one can ever come out of grief or other challenges unless through application of one’s own grit

धैर्यधनाः हि साधवः॥

बाणभट्ट

dhairyadhanāḥ hi sādhavaḥ||

The real wealth of classy people is their boldness and grit

प्रवातेऽपि निष्कम्पा गिरयः॥
