राज्यं येन पटान्तलग्नतृणकं त्यक्तं गुरोराज्ञया

पाथेयं परिगृह्य कार्मुकवरं घोरं वनं प्रस्थितः॥

स्वाधीनः शशिमौलिचापविषये प्राप्तो न वै विक्रियां

पायाद् वः स विभीषणाग्रजनिहा रामाभिधानो हरिः॥

सुभाषितरत्नमाला॥१

rājyaṁ yena paṭāntalagnatṛṇakaṁ tyaktaṁ gurorājñayā

pātheyaṁ parigṛhya kārmukavaraṁ ghoraṁ vanaṁ prasthitaḥ||

svādhīnaḥ śaśimaulicāpaviṣaye prāpto na vai vikriyāṁ

pāyād vaḥ sa vibhīṣaṇāgrajanihā rāmābhidhāno hariḥ||

May that Supreme Lord Hari, the Narayana who has assumed the name of Rama protect all of you

That lord, who accepted the order of his father and preceptor Dasharatha unconditionally and gave up the kingdom of Ayodhya as if it was just a piece of grass sticking to the tip of his dress

That Lord, who set out for his sojourn to the forest, holding aloft his own great bow Kothanda, as if that was the only provision and protection for him in his ardous journey

Ravana रामाभिधानः the one who is having the name as Rama हरिः Lord Hari the Vishnu वः you पायाद् protect

ശ്രീ രാമന്‍ എന്ന നാമധേയം സ്വീകരിച്ച് ഭൂമിയില്‍ വിലസുന്ന ഭഗവാന്‍ ഹരി എന്ന നാരായണന്‍ നമ്മെയെല്ലാം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കട്ടെ

ആ രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍ സ്വന്തം പിതാവും ഗുരുവുമായ ദശരഥന്‍റെ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശവും പ്രതിജ്ഞയും പാലിക്കുവനായി തനിക്കവകാശപ്പെട്ട രാജ്യം തന്‍റെ വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ തുമ്പില്‍ പറ്റിപ്പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പുല്ല്ക്കൊടി എന്ന പോലെ ദൂരെ വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞു

കോദണ്ഡ൦ എന്ന ശക്തിയേറിയ തന്റെ വില്ല് മാത്രം പാഥേയവും യാത്രാസുരക്ഷയും ആയി കൈക്കൊണ്ടു അസ്തോഭ്യനായി ഘോരമായ കാട്ടിലേക്ക് യാത്ര തുടര്‍ന്നു അദ്ദേഹം

മിഥിലയില്‍ അമ്പിളിക്കല തലയില്‍ ചൂടുന്ന ഭഗവാന്‍ ശങ്കരന്റെ പാവനമായ വില്ലെടുത്തു കുലയ്ക്കുവാനുള്ള വെല്ലുവിളി ഏറ്റെടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഒരു കൂസലോ പരിഭ്രമമോ ഇല്ലാതെ ധീരനായി മുന്നോട്ടു വന്ന ധീരനാണ് ശ്രീരാമന്‍

വിഭീഷണന്‍റെ ജ്യേഷ്ടനായ രാവണനെ നേരിട്ട് പോരില്‍ വകവരുത്തിയ പരാക്രമിയാണ് ശ്രീ രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍.
