बृहस्पते प्रथमं वाचो अग्रं यत् प्रैरत नामधेयं दधानाः

यद् एषां श्रेष्ठं यद् अरिप्रं आसीत् प्रेणा तद् एषां निहितं गुहाविः।

सक्तुं इव तित उना पुनन्तो यत्र धीरा मनसा वाचं अक्रत

अत्रा सखायः सख्यानि जानते भद्रैषां लक्ष्मीः निहिताधि वाचि॥

ऋग्वेदे १०-७१-१-२

bṛhaspate prathamaṁ vāco agraṁ yat prairata nāmadheyaṁ dadhānāḥ

yad eṣāṁ śreṣṭhaṁ yad aripraṁ āsīt preṇā tad eṣāṁ nihitaṁ guhāviḥ|

saktuṁ iva tita unā punanto yatra dhīrā manasā vācaṁ akrata

atrā sakhāyaḥ sakhyāni jānate bhadraiṣāṁ lakṣmīḥ nihitādhi vāci||

Oh Brihaspati, The Divine mystery was revealed by the sages ( the seers of knowledge) who discovered the knowledge hidden in the mysterious darkness as if in a dark cave, and they formulated such knowledge with great love and articulated them in words, giving them names or expressions in sound and speech… This speech was their best, sublimest and was pure and untainted and it revealed to the listener and the world the mystery of the Divine intent.

The seers who created the words, they, with great spirit and sincerity, sifted the best words from the rest, like sifting the flour from the chaff with a sieve.

And it is with these enlightened and refined words that friends have discovered their friendships And the welfare and the beauty of the entire universe were hidden in these words.

ബൃഹസ്പതേ പ്രഥമം വാചോ അഗ്രം യത് പ്രൈരത നാമധേയം ദധാനാഃ

യദ് ഏഷാം ശ്രേഷ്ഠം യദ് അരിപ്രം ആസീത് പ്രേണാ തദ് ഏഷാം നിഹിതം ഗുഹാവിഃ।

സക്തും ഇവ തിത ഉനാ പുനന്തോ യത്ര ധീരാ മനസാ വാചം അക്രത

അത്രാ സഖായഃ സഖ്യാനി ജാനതേ ഭദ്രൈഷാം ലക്ഷ്മീഃ നിഹിതാധി വാചി॥

ഋഗ്വേദേ ൧൦-൭൧-൧-൨

ഭഗവാനെ ബൃഹസ്പതി, ആര്‍ക്കും അറിയാത്ത ദൈവികമായ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും രഹസ്യങ്ങളും ഇരുണ്ട ഗുഹയില്‍ ഒളിച്ചിരുന്ന അന്ധകാരം വെളിച്ചം കൊണ്ട് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ പോലെ മന്ത്രദ്രഷ്ടാക്കളായ ഋഷി വര്യന്മാര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സിന്‍റെ അഗാധതയില്‍ മനനം ചെയ്തപ്പോള്‍ അവരുടെ ധിഷണയില്‍ തെളിഞ്ഞു വന്നു. തീവ്രമായ പ്രേമത്തോടെ അവര്‍ ആ ജ്ഞാനം ഉള്‍ക്കൊണ്ടു അതിനു വാക്കുകളിലൂടെ രൂപം നല്‍കി. ഓരോ പ്രത്യേക ജ്ഞാന ശകലത്തിനും തിരിച്ചറിയാവുന്ന പേരുകള്‍ നല്‍കി ശബ്ദങ്ങളിലൂടെയും ഉച്ചാരണങ്ങളിലൂടെയും ലോകത്തിന്‍റെ അറിവിലേക്കായി, നന്മക്കായി ആ ജ്ഞാനം പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു

ദൈവികമായ ജ്ഞാനം മനസ്സില്‍ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ ഋഷീശ്വരന്മാര്‍ അതിനു ആവിഷ്കാരം നല്‍കുവാനുള്ള വാക്കുകള്‍ അവരുടെ ധിഷണയില്‍ തെളിഞ്ഞു വന്നപ്പോള്‍ അവയില്‍ നിന്ന് ഏറ്റവും ഉത്തമങ്ങളും ഉദാത്തങ്ങളും ആയവ മാത്രം ഏറെ ഉത്സാഹത്തോടെയും ശ്രദ്ധയോടെയും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു. പൊടിച്ച ധാന്യത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത കരടും ഉമിയും എല്ലാം അരിപ്പ ഉപയോഗിച്ച മാറ്റിയെടുത്ത് ഉപയോഗമുള്ള മാവുപൊടി മാത്രം ശേഖരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവര്‍ ശ്രേഷ്ടങ്ങളും ഉദാത്തങ്ങളും ആയ വാക്കുകളും ശബ്ദങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു.

പരിശുദ്ധങ്ങളും ശ്രേഷ്ടങ്ങളും ആയ ഈ വാക്കുകളിലൂടെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കള്‍ സ്വന്തം സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു. സൌഹൃദങ്ങള്‍ അരക്കിട്ടുറപ്പിച്ചു.

ഈ പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിലെ മഹത്വം നിറഞ്ഞ എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളും എല്ലാ നന്മയും സമ്പന്നതയും എല്ലാം ആ വാക്കുകളില്‍ അന്തര്‍ലീനമായിരിക്കുന്ന് എന്ന സത്യം ഉള്‍ക്കൊണ്ടു.
