Do not hanker after perfect role models
Are you yourself one ?
Social and moral laws are devised keeping the ideal as the standard and the lawmakers and others know that ideal is only a hope and expectation and reality is far off the mark.
The society evolves in the right direction if the yawning gap between the ideal and the actual is getting reduced even a wee bit.
Only prigs and mother in laws can be strict moralists
