सुभाषितमयैर्द्रव्यैः संग्रहं न करोति यः।
स तु प्रस्तावयज्ञेषु किं प्रदास्यति दक्षिणाम्॥
सुभाषितरत्नमाला ३२
subhāṣitamayairdravyaiḥ saṃgrahaṃ na karoti yaḥ।
sa tu prastāvayajñeṣu kiṃ pradāsyati dakṣiṇām॥

If a person does not accumulate his wealth of knowledge in the shape of collection of worthy sayings or subhashitams, what contribution would he be able to make when he has to test his worth by presenting his knowledge in assemblies where valid views and opinions are to be given
यः who सुभाषितमयैः in the shape of noble and worthy words and teaching द्रव्यैः wealth संग्रहं accumulation न करोति does not do सः he प्रस्ताव यज्ञेषु in assemblies and great gatherings where worthy opinions are to be present किं दक्षिणाम् what contribution प्रदास्यति would give
സുഭാഷിതമയൈര്ദ്രവ്യൈഃ സംഗ്രഹം ന കരോതി യഃ।
സ തു പ്രസ്താവയജ്ഞേഷു കിം പ്രദാസ്യതി ദക്ഷിണാം॥

സുഭാഷിതങ്ങളുടെ രൂപത്തിലുള്ള അറിവിന്റെ സമ്പത്ത് സ്വരൂപിച്ചെടുക്കുവാനുള്ള കഴിവും സന്ദര്ഭവും ഒരാള്ക്ക് കിട്ടിയില്ലെങ്കില് കഴിവും അറിവും അന്തസ്സും ഉള്ള ആളുകള് കൂടിയിരുന്ന് ആലോചിക്കുകയും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങള് പറയുകയും നയങ്ങള് രൂപീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സഭകളില് പങ്കെടുക്കേണ്ട സന്ദര്ഭങ്ങളില് അയാളുടെതായി എന്തെങ്കിലും വിലയുള്ള സംഭാവന നല്കുവാന് അയാള്ക്ക് സാധിക്കുമോ ?
