स्वयमुत्पाद्यते वह्निं परितस्तेन वह्निना।
दह्यमानः परीतापं भजते स न पण्डितः॥
सारसमुच्चये॥५०१
svayamutpādyate vahniṁ paritastena vahninā|
dahyamānaḥ parītāpaṁ bhajate sa na paṇḍitaḥ||

A person lights fire himself. He kindles the fire and is actively stoking the fire by providing fuel .He is providing environs for that fire to burn in full strength. Such fire spreads and surrounds him. Then it burns, inundates and he faces misery. We cannot call him a wise and diligent person.
Some people just invite dangers through indiscreet acts prodded by ignorance. Once the nemesis visits them, they cry aloud. That is of no use.
यः one वह्निं fire स्वयं himself उत्पाद्यते kindles, cause, तेन वह्निना by that fire परितः भवति gets encircled, gets mire तेन दह्यमानः being inundated by it पारीतापं भजते faces misery, faces destruction सः पण्डितः न he is not an alert person, he is not a worthy person
സ്വയമുത്പാദ്യതേ വഹ്നിം പരിതസ്തേന വഹ്നിനാ।
ദഹ്യമാനഃ പരീതാപം ഭജതേ സ ന പണ്ഡിതഃ॥
സാരസമുച്ചയേ॥൫൦൧
ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് തീയ് കത്തിക്കുന്നു. കത്തുന്ന തീ കൂടുതല് ശക്തമാക്കുവാന് ഇന്ധനവും മറ്റു സൌകര്യങ്ങളും ഒരുക്കുന്നു. അതോടെ തീ ആളിപ്പടരുന്നു. ആ തീയ് അയാള്ക്ക് ചുറ്റും വ്യാപിക്കുന്നു. അയാള് ആ ചൂടില് വെന്ത് ഉരുകുന്നു. ഏറെ വിനാശം നേരിടുന്നു. അയാളെ വിവരമുള്ളവന് എന്ന് പറയുവാനാവില്ല.
പലരും വിവരദോഷം കൊണ്ടും അശ്രദ്ധകൊണ്ടും സ്വയം അപകടങ്ങള് വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുന്നു. പിന്നീട് അതോര്ത്ത് കരഞ്ഞിട്ടു എന്ത് കാര്യം ?
