आयुर्वित्तं गृहच्छिद्रं मन्त्रौषध समागमः।
दानमानापमानाश्च गोप्यान्येते गुरोरपि॥
सुभाषितशतकत्रये॥
āyurvittaṁ gṛhacchidraṁ mantrauṣadha samāgamaḥ|
dānamānāpamānāśca gopyānyete gurorapi||
subhāṣitaśatakatraye||
It would be better to keep following matters very confidential, confidential to the extent that they should not be revealed even to the most revered and elderly preceptor.
1. One’s age 2. One’s state of finance 3. Quarrels and bickering inside one’s close family
4. Discovery or gaining knowledge about secret spells or drugs 5. News about the gifts on is either giving or receiving, the honours or accolades received or the insults and slighting one has suffered.
ആയുര്വിത്തം ഗൃഹച്ഛിദ്രം മന്ത്രൌഷധ സമാഗമഃ।
ദാനമാനാപമാനാശ്ച ഗോപ്യാന്യേതേ ഗുരോരപി॥
സുഭാഷിതശതകത്രയേ॥
താഴെ പറയുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള് ഏറെ രഹസ്യമായി സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതാണ് ബുദ്ധിമാന്റെ ലക്ഷണം അത്തരം രഹസ്യങ്ങള് വായോവൃദ്ധനായ ഗുരുവിനോട് പോലും പങ്കു വയ്ക്കാതിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് വിവേകം.
൧. ഒരാളുടെ വയസ്സ് ൨ ഒരാളുടെ സാമ്പത്തിക സ്ഥിതി ൩. സ്വന്തം വീട്ടില് അടുത്ത കുടുംബക്കാരും ആയി സംഭവിക്കുന്ന കലഹങ്ങളും തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണകളും. ൪. ഏതെങ്കിലും മന്ത്രങ്ങളോ ഔഷധങ്ങളോ കണ്ടെത്തുകയോ അവ ഉപയോഗിക്കാനുള്ള നൈപുണ്യം കൈവരികയോ ആണെങ്കില് അക്കാര്യം ൬. ആര്ക്കെങ്കിലും ദാനമോ സഹായമോ ചെയ്യുക, ആരില് നിന്നെങ്കിലും സമ്മാനമോ വേറെ സഹായമോ സ്വീകരിക്കുക, മറ്റുള്ളവരില് നിന്ന് പ്രശംസയും ബഹവുമാനവും കിട്ടുക, അല്ലെങ്കില് ആരെങ്കിലും നമ്മെ അപമാനിക്കുക
