शत्रोरपि गुणाः वाच्या दोषा वाच्या गुरोरपि।
पक्षपाताद् भवेत् पापं दोषा दोषा गुणा गुणा॥

śatrorapi guṇāḥ vācyā doṣā vācyā gurorapi|
pakṣapātād bhavet pāpaṁ doṣā doṣā guṇā guṇā||

The great qualities and virtues of even enemies and adversaries are to be understood as deserving praise and should be considered with the respect due to them
The defects and inadequacies of even respected person like preceptors should be recognized and they should be subjected to criticism they would deserve.
Taking sides without logic, being partisan in attitude would attract sins
Virtue is virtue everywhere
Defect too is defect wherever it is found.
Whether there is sin or not, being realistic and clear in perceptions would make life really comfortable.
शत्रोः enemies अपि even of गुणाः great qualities, virtues, merits वाच्या are praiseworthy, should be spoken of with approval भवन्ति become गुरोः of preceptor अपि even of दोषाः defects, shortcomings वाच्या are to be pointed out critically भवन्ति become
पक्षपातात् by taking sides without logic and fairness, without proper evaluation पापं sin भवेत् would accrue गुणाः virtues and merits सर्वत्र गुणाः are everywhere of virtue दोषा demerits, defect सर्वत्र in all cases दोषा च भवन्ति.are demerits too
ശത്രോരപി ഗുണാഃ വാച്യാ ദോഷാ വാച്യാ ഗുരോരപി।
പക്ഷപാതാദ് ഭവേത് പാപം ദോഷാ ദോഷാ ഗുണാ ഗുണാ॥
വ്യാസ സുഭാഷിതേ ൩൬
നമ്മോടു മത്സരിക്കുന്ന എതിരാളികളുടെതായാലും , എന്തിനു ബദ്ധശത്രുക്കളുടെതായാലും, പോലും ഗുണങ്ങളും അവര് ചെയ്യുന്ന നല്ല കാര്യങ്ങളും അവ അര്ഹിക്കുന്ന പ്രാധാന്യത്തോടെ കാണുവാനും അവയെക്കുറിച്ച് നല്ലത് പറയുവാനും തയാറാവണം
അതുപോലെ നമുക്ക് ഏറെ വേണ്ടപ്പെട്ട വ്യക്തികളിലും ഏറെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്ന ഗുരുക്കളിലും പോലും ന്യൂനതകളും പാകപ്പിഴകളും കണ്ടാല് അവയെ വിമര്ശനപരമായി പരിഗണിക്കാനും അത് തുറന്നു പറയാനും മടിക്കരുത്.
യുക്തിയുക്തമായി ചിന്തിക്കാതെ പക്ഷപാതം പിടിക്കുന്നത് പാപങ്ങളും അനര്ത്ഥങ്ങളും വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തും
ഗുണങ്ങള് എവിടെക്കണ്ടാലും അവ ഗുണങ്ങള് തന്നെയാണ്
ദോഷങ്ങളും ആരുടെ ഭാഗത്തായാലും ദോഷങ്ങള് തന്നെ.
