निशानां च दिवानां च यथा ज्योतिः विभूषणम्।
सतीनां च यतीनां च तथा शीलमखण्डितम्॥
niśānāṁ ca divānāṁ ca yathā jyotiḥ vibhūṣaṇam|
satīnāṁ ca yatīnāṁ ca tathā śīlamakhaṇḍitam||
Just like light, be it from sun, moon, fire or any other sources adds value and decoration for days and nights too, a spotless character and behavious of the highest propriety are the decorations for both ladies of class and for sages and saints.
The sources of light are varied during daytime and night. The personalities of chaste ladies and the sages, their activities and conduct in daily life, all these are varied. They have nothing in common with each other. Sages aim at moksham whereas chaste ladies pray for the material welfare and well being of all people around. Still both should possess a common quality. Spotless character.
यथा just like निशानां for nights दिवानां for days च also ज्योतिः light (sun, moon, lamp, fire) विभूषणं ornament, embellishment भवति become तथा in the same manner सतीनां for ladies of high standard यतीनां for saints and sages च to अखण्डितं unbroken, unbreakable, steadfast शीलं character conduct sense of propriety विभूषणं ornament, decoratin मन्यते is considered
നിശാനാം ച ദിവാനാം ച യഥാ ജ്യോതിഃ വിഭൂഷണം।
സതീനാം ച യതീനാം ച തഥാ ശീലമഖണ്ഡിതം॥
രാത്രിയായാലും പകലായാലും വെട്ടിത്തിളങ്ങുന്ന വെളിച്ചം ഒരു അലങ്കാരം തന്നെയാണ്. പകല് അത് സൂര്യനില് നിന്നായിരിക്കും ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. രാത്രി വെളിച്ചം കിട്ടുന്നത് ചന്ദ്രനില്നിന്നോ ദീപത്തില് നിന്നോ ആവാം. പക്ഷെ വെളിച്ചം ഇല്ലെങ്കില് നമ്മുടെ നിലനില്പ്പ് തകരാറിലാവും. അതുപോലെ സര്വ്വസംഗ പരിത്യാഗികളായ യതിവര്യന്മാര് ആയാലും പതിവ്രതകളായ സ്ത്രീ രത്നങ്ങള് ആയാലും അവര്ക്കെല്ലാം എപ്പോഴും ഒരുപോലെ
വേണ്ട ഒരു അലങ്കാരം, ഒരു അത്യാവശ്യം ആണ് കറപുരളാത്ത സ്വഭാവശുദ്ധി.
പ്രകാശത്തിന്റെ ഉറവിടങ്ങള് രാത്രിയിലും പകലിലും തികച്ചും വേറിട്ടവയാണ്. അതുപോലെതന്നെ യാതിവര്യന്മാരുടെയും പതിവ്രതകളുടെയും കര്മ്മമാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങള് തമ്മില് ഒരു സാമ്യതയും ഇല്ല. സന്ന്യാസിമാര് മോക്ഷം തേടി പോകുമ്പോള് കുലസ്ത്രീകള് കുടുംബത്തിന്രെയും സമൂഹത്തിന്റെയും നിലനില്പ്പിനായി അശ്രാന്ത പരിശ്രമം നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
അതെ, സ്വഭാവശുദ്ധിയും പ്രതിബദ്ധതയും എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഒരുപോലെ അലങ്കാരമായിരിക്കും
