न्यायप्रवृत्तो नृपतिरात्मानमपि च प्रजाः।
त्रिवर्गेणोपसंधत्ते निहन्ति ध्रुवमन्यथा॥
सुभाषितsubरत्नमाला १७९ कामान्धकीय नीतिसारम्
nyāyapravṛtto nṛpatirātmānamapi ca prajāḥ|
trivargeṇopasaṁdhatte nihanti dhruvamanyathā||
subhāṣtaratnamālā 179 kāmāndhakīya nītisāram
The king, the ruler, the leader of the people who conducts himself in the path of righteousness and works strictly in the path of justice fairplay and whose aim is the welfare for all his people, would secure for himself and his sujects too all the three worlds benefits.. Dharma, Artha and Kama.. the Trivarga.. Righteousness, Wealth and affluence, and fulfilment of all positive desires. If the king acts otherwise, he would destroy himself and his subject and the kingdom too.

यः which नृपतिः ruler of the people, king न्याय प्रवृत्तः works, functions in the path of justice, welfare and fairplay सः he आत्मानं himself प्रजाः subjects अपि च too त्रिवर्गेण with three benefits .. dharma, artha and kama.. righteousness prosperity and fulfilment उप संधत्ते helps in attainment, secures for them अन्यथा otherwise ध्रुवं certainly निहन्ति destroy
ന്യായപ്രവൃത്തോ നൃപതിരാത്മാനമപി ച പ്രജാഃ।
ത്രിവര്ഗേണോപസംധത്തേ നിഹന്തി ധ്രുവമന്യഥാ॥
സുഭാഷിതരത്നമാലാ ൧൭൯ കാമാന്ധകീയ നീതിസാരം
ന്യായത്തിന്റെയും നീതിയുടെയും പാതയില് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന രാജാവ്, നേതാവ് ഭരണാധികാരി തനിക്കു തന്നെയും തന്റെ പ്രജകള്ക്കും ധര്മ്മ, അര്ഥം കാമം... എന്ന ത്രിവര്ഗ്ഗം അതായത് നീതിയും ന്യായവും നിറഞ്ഞ ഭരണം, സാമ്പത്തികമായ ഉന്നതി, നല്ല പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങളും എല്ലാവര്ക്കും സന്തോഷം നല്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള് നേടിയെടുക്കുവാനുള്ള അന്തരീക്ഷം, അവയുടെ നേട്ടം എന്നിവ കൈവരിക്കുന്നു.
അതല്ലാതെ ദുര്ഭരണം നടത്തുന്നവന് സ്വയം നശിക്കുന്നു. സ്വന്തം രാജ്യത്തെയും പ്രജകളെയും നാശത്തിലേക്ക് തള്ളി വിടുന്നു.
