 They describe the potency of various gods and goddesses and their impact on our lives, our cows, our agriculture, etc..

And vedas mostly talk about offerings of aajyam and other things to gods through Agni..

Ushas, Medha, Sarasvathi, etc are the prominent female gods seen..

A stray refrence of Durga.. or Lakshmi or Amba may be found,, but when we try to seek the meaning those names does not appear to conform exactly to the goddesses we worship today..

The celebrations appear to be in the Agamic and later Puranic era..

We read Saptashati Chandi or devi Mahatmyam from a religious angle,, but if we analyze the social bacground there we can easily trace Devi worship and its practices..
The protagonists there are a Kshtriya and Vaishya.. Suratha and Samathi.. 
The celebrations are more of pageant oriented.. and participated by non brahmin castes... and that is a detour from the Vedic days where Gods were prerogative of Brahmins..

Rigvedam to Samavedam.. definitely are not telling stories.. may be some biographical references mighy be found incidentally..
Puranas and Vedas cannot be compared..

We cannot be sure above Atharva vedam in that respect..
